Hatha yoga is the most widely practiced form of yoga in America. It is the branch of yoga which concentrates on physical health and mental well-being. Hatha yoga uses asana (postures) , breathing techniques (pranayama), and Dyana (meditation) to bring awareness of the body mind connection. There are hundreds of Hatha yoga postures and variations that work to make the spine supple and to promote circulation in all the organs, glands, and tissues. Hatha yoga postures also strengthen and stretch the body, promoting balance and flexibility, with a concentration on proper alignment.
Matt’s Monday class is a challenging yet doable flow, taking the best of the traditional Hatha yoga poses and blending them to help you increase strength, flexibility and stamina. He is an excellent experienced teacher who guides you to take full advantage of each pose which includes hands on adjustments.
