Intelligent and Intuitive Yoga Training with Ricky Tran
Course Description: The physical practice of yoga can be as little or as much as you want it to be. It can be therapeutic/healing or it can be advance and thrilling. My teacher says good health before cheap thrills, and that’s my approach to the practice and teaching of yoga asana. This weekend is designed for teachers to see and learn how I offer gentle yoga as medicine. Two classes are open to the public.
Friday evening 90 min master class open to public, $45 or $40 early bird
Gentle Yoga Wellness Workshop Level 1
Using the Vinyasa Krama system of T Krishnamacharya as the foundation for this practice, we will move through a slow and gentle, yet surprisingly challenging practice to open all major joints, stretch muscles, wake up internal organs, deepen breath, focus/quiet mind for a sense of integrated stillness. There may be some partner work and hands on assists as needed. All levels welcome but 6 months of yoga practice is suggested.
Saturday 8 hours teachers only – topics TBDiscussed
Title: Teacher’s Lab – Assists and Sequencing
This clinic is for teachers but we will accept a few students who have no intention of teaching to be examples. Learn how to quickly teach breathing and bandhas. We will explore how to make safe and effective modifications and assists on a list of postures and transitions that you as a group will create. We will also explore sequencing towards pinnacle postures with and without limitations. This will be a hands on training. Please bring your lunch or snacks because the break will be short. Bring your yoga anatomy books for reference.
Sunday morning 90 min master class open to public, $45 or $40 early bird

June 14, 2018
I had two private sessions with Ricky and in two days my yoga practice was transformed. The transformation was in the details: Ricky unlocked my struggles and questions about basic poses and suddenly my vinyasa was aligned and flowed much more easily. I am a physician and I was impressed by his knowledge of anatomy and the precision of his adjustments. He tailored adjustments and stretches to accommodate my scoliosis and areas of my back that had never expanded or felt breath were opened. The work I experienced was simple yet powerful. We kept it simple with “bread and butter” poses but at the same time I was able to do poses I did not think possible! I would recommend taking any class from Ricky–his approach is so personal and he will not let you practice a pose in a harmful way. I strongly recommend a private class to anyone who wants to experience significant change and breakthrough in his or her practice.

Tight hips? Want to get lotus??
Anything is possible when priorities are in order! I am determine to heal with yoga! Ricky Tran, thank you so much for leading me on my path!!! I am amazed to see how my body transforms, and mind too of course! There are only 11 month(!!!) between photo #1 where I am sitting on yoga block with my tightest hips in the world and photo #5 where I am in full lotus laying flat on my stomach. But it was 11 months of hard Ricky’s work and my total dedication. Namaste!
My wife and I have been practicing yoga for about 12 years. We have been fairly consistent in our practice and have seen improvement through our dedication. We have attended numerous workshops with well known yoga instructors and have enjoyed and learned from them. However, after attending a 3-day workshop with Ricky in Houston, we will have to say that we have never experienced anyone who has motivated us as much to attain a higher level in our yogic journey. Ricky’s non-intimidating style and knowledge would benefit anyone interested in exploring the benefits of yoga, whether they are a beginner, intermediate, or advanced student.

Ricky Tran embodies what he teaches… lightness. In Ricky’s workshops, I learned how to embody grace in everything from child’s pose to handstand. Ricky masterfully teaches students the technique, theory, and most importantly, the spirit of yoga. The small time I spent learning from Ricky, has made huge shifts in both my physical and spiritual practice. I always look forward to Ricky’s trips into town knowing that I will get to be in the presence of his humble wisdom and lighthearted playfulness. Thanks to Ricky for sharing his light!
