In this 90 minute class we will explore the breath.
- You will learn what a healthy breath is from the traditions of western science, osteopathy, yoga, and Chinese medicine.
- We will observe our current breathing patterns and find out how our breath is linked to the five elements, the body, and the mind. Knowing this, we can bring mindfulness to our breathing in order to cultivate better physical health, and emotional well being.
- Participants will leave with a clear foundation in how to be present and comfortable with their breathing, and in how to establish an at home breath awareness practice.
Bridgette Shea is a licensed acupuncturist, Ayurveda practitioner, writer, and public speaker.
Bridgette received her Bachelor’s degree in Asian Studies from SUNY Albany, and her Master’s from Seattle Institute of Oriental Medicine. While working on her MAcOM, she received extensive training in acupuncture, herbal medicine, and translation of Chinese medical and Taoist texts. Prior to this, Bridgette travelled through India studying yoga, Sanskrit, pranayama, and meditation.
Her love of ancient medical practices started with a trip to the Healing Temple of Aesklepios in Old Epidaurus, Greece in 1992. Since then, she has dedicated her life to the study, practice, and sharing of ancient healing methods and how they can be used in our modern times.
Bridgette lives with her family in Saratoga Springs, NY. When she is not working in her private practice or writing, she is teaching transformational workshops on energy medicine, healthy breathing, seasonal cleansing, and Ayurveda.
